Welcome to Otterville R-VI School.  I look forward to seeing each and everyone of the students this fall.  Together we can all work together to create a safe healthy place to learn.

Many of you already know that I began working for the district in January 1995 as the district's very first health aide.  I have loved my job from the moment I first began and continue to approach each and every day as a new day to learn and grow.  I have had parents tell me that I am the "Mom" when mom is not there.  I strive each day to live up to that high expectation and make each and every child feels at ease whether they become sick or injured while at school.  This year we will begin in a uniquely different matter but again working together we can assure that each and every student will have a safe healthy place to learn and grow.

In addition to being the district's health aide, I drive a school bus.  I have to tell you that I really never imagined that I would do it.  However, I do love that aspect of education as well.  From the moment that child enters the bus with a smile on their face, I am willing and ready to make them feel at ease.  I greet each rider with a smile and a good morning.  I want to do my part in making their day begin on a positive note.  Positivity creates a great environment for learning and I take pride in helping each and every student achieve that.  I also enjoy taking our student athletes to competitions from time to time.  I believe that whether we are the teacher, secretary, janitor, cook, nurse or bus driver, we all have something to give our students through the learning process.

My office is always open and the students know that I have always had the open door policy.  I will drop whatever it is to help a student in need.  With that being said I truly want each parent to know that I am available when needed to discuss your child's health at any time you feel there is a concern.   I attended Otterville School District for the entire years of primary education.  I am proud to be an EAGLE.  I hope that each child shares in the same enthusiasm that I had while attending school.  Engaging in the many activities provided and opportunities to learn are all what a quality education is about.

My husband and I live just west of Otterville in rural Smithton on our 40 acre farm.  We have 3 grown children, Julie, Jason and Sara.  I have 6 grandsons, Alex, Sawyer, Aiden, Jameson, Mason and Jax.  Together my husband, Les and I have over 45 head of cattle, 2 dogs, and a few chickens that I enjoy gathering eggs from.  I have an extensive love of reading, I like to fish, go camping in a cabin and just spend time with family and friends.

I look forward to a wonderful school year.
