STUDENT DATA PRIVACY

Protecting student information and privacy both on and offline is a critical part of our data security plan.  Every educational software package, website, and App comes with a lengthy Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Those are the legal-looking documents we all usually agree to without reading or even giving a second thought.  The school district subscribes to a service called Senso to help ensure the software and websites that our students use are compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and other student data privacy regulations.

STUDENT SAFETY ONLINE

The school district subscribes to multiple state of the art services that help to ensure our students' safety online. While these services are very effective and help to ensure compliance with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) by blocking access to inappropriate content on websites, the district cannot guarantee that access to all inappropriate sites will be blocked. They also help to protect them from self-harm, cyberbullying, drug or alcohol use, pornography and other harmful situations. Our technology department and school officials are alerted 24 hours a day, 365 days a year of unsafe situations.
