Ms. Jill Billingsley

Greetings to the Otterville community.  My name is Jill Billingsley and I am very excited to be joining the Otterville School District as the new Music Teacher.  Growing up I was always the little kid that wanted to sing all the time.  My grandfather used to tell a story of when I was 4 and got up in front of a large crowd to sing Amazing Grace and kept quitting and telling the guitar player that he was playing the song wrong.  Throughout high school I continued to love music, I played Trumpet and French Horn in band and I also sang in choir and show choir.  In 2006 I returned to college as a non-traditional student and began pursuing my degree in Music Education, I had decided that I loved music and I wanted to instill my love and knowledge of music into others and the best way to do that was to teach.  I received my Associates Degree from State Fair Community College and my Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education from Hannibal LaGrange University in Hannibal, MO.   I had amazing opportunities in college that included singing on stage in Branson, singing in Chicago, and the greatest privilege of singing at Carnegie Hall in New York City, New York under the direction of John Rutter.  I have directed church choirs, I sing on the praise and worship team at my current church and I often sing the National Anthem for special events.  I truly look forward to getting to know this community and the amazing students that attend this school.  Together we will build an amazing Otterville Eagles Music Program.
