Mrs. Christie Thierfelder

Welcome to Otterville R-VI School.  Each fall, I look forward to working with the teachers, staff, parents, and students to make the year even better than the year before.

I began working for the district in January 1995 as the district's very first health aide.  I absolutely love my job as the health aide.  I have had parents tell me that I am the "Mom" when mom is not there.  I sure hope to live up to that high expectation and make each and every child feels at ease whether they become sick or injured while at school.  Sometimes it's as simple as a Band-Aid or an ice pack.

In addition to my duties as a health aide, I have been able to participate in the classroom through the District's Titile Response to Intervention program, otehrwilse known as RtI.  I love being able to share my love of reading and math with students; this also helps the students gain some insight that every one of us that work at OHS want to do whatever we can to promote student learning.  I also driver a school bus full time for the district; each morning I greet those riders with a good morning as they load the bus.  I trully enjoy being able to wish them a great day as they leave the bus to enter the doors or the school where they will spend their day learning.  I believe that whether we are the teacher, secretary, janitor, cook, nurse or bus driver, we all have something to give our students through the learning process.

My office is always open and the students know that I have always had the open door policy.  I will drop whatever it is to help a student in need.  With that being said I truly want each parent to know that I am available when needed to discuss your child's health at any time you feel there is a concern.   I attended Otterville School District for the entire years of primary education.  I am proud to be an EAGLE.  I hope that each child shares in the same enthusiasm that I had while attending school.  Engaging in the many activities provided and opportunities to learn are all what a quality education is about.
