Mrs. Mary McIntyre

Mrs. Mary McIntyre graduated from Tipton High School in 1977. She graduated from State Fair Community College in Sedalia in 1979.  Then she transferred to University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and majored in Biology and minored in Earth Science.  Mary did her student teaching at Smithton before graduating from UCM in the spring of 1981. 

She taught 7-12th grade Science at Bunceton from the fall of 1981 to the spring of 1985.  While at Bunceton Mrs. McIntyre was also the Senior class sponsor and accompanied seniors to Florida on their Senior trip.  The in the fall of 1987 Mary went to St. Andrew School in Tipton where she taught for 14 years.  Duties there included teaching 6th grade homeroom as well and 7th and 8th grade Science.  One of her honors included organizing numerous Veterans’ Day assemblies.  Upon leaving St. Andrew School, Mary taught junior high Science and Health at Tipton R-VI.  She also implemented the At-risk program.

Mary came to Otterville in the fall of 2003. It was here that she met Jeff McIntyre and they were married in 2005.  Her duties at OHS include teaching 6th grade Math, 7th grade Math, 8th grade Pre-Algebra, 9th grade Algebra A, 7th grade Science, and 8th grade Science.  Extra duties include sponsoring the 8th grade class, coaching the junior high Math Team and Science Fair.

During the summers of 2006 to 2018, Mary helped the custodial staff get the school ready for the upcoming school year. This included painting, cleaning, moving furniture, stripping floors, etc.

One of Mrs. McIntyre’s honors was being chosen as the Outstanding Rural Middle School Teacher in 2013-2014. But, the awards she is proudest of are the 1st and 2nd place plaques that her junior high students brought home from CCAA Math Contest.

Mary loves spending time outdoors whether it be fishing, mowing, working in the flower beds or swimming. She also enjoys indoor activities such as embroidery, sewing, and making wood products with her husband.  The one thing that she enjoys doing the most is spending time with her grandchildren.
